If like me you like to have something on your shelf to look at then please do buy a physical copy of the CD, which is a beautiful object in its own right and which is also taking up a lot of space in my study. Why not buy two?

Lily’s March is by the Orcadian fiddler Douglas Montgomery. It represents his daughter Lily learning to walk, with lots of little pauses for when she has a little rest. I pair it with Vaughan Williams’ wonderful tune Linden Lea, which isn’t traditional, but sounds like it should be, which is close enough. This was the first solo set that I ever performed on melodeon.
